Hello, I'm Armbrust. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Wikipedia:Requests for page protection without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Armbrust The Homonculus 01:28, 24 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Done. For the record, it's not strictly necessary for the original page protector to come back and do the unprotection; rather, any administrator can unprotect a page absolutely any time there's a valid reason to do so (and, in fact, normally such pages are unlocked again within a few weeks or months). So I don't know why the page would still have been protected for so long, or why the edit request wouldn't have been responded to before now — because there are processes in place by which hundreds or even thousands of Wikipedians could have dealt with both issues before today. But no matter, I've unlocked the page at any rate. Bearcat (talk) 05:16, 6 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's no big deal, it's perfectly acceptable to ask the original protecting administrator to assist first — for one thing, if there were a reason why the page protection couldn't be lifted, the original locking admin would be the one most likely to know why that is. I was just attempting to clarify that the original administrator isn't necessarily the only person who's allowed to deal with it, just in case you come across another situation like this in the future. It is always a good idea to approach the original administrator first — given that you're relatively new here, I just wanted to make sure you know that you're not stuck if the original administrator doesn't respond promptly. Hope that helps. Bearcat (talk) 15:22, 9 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

RE: The Fame Monster

[edit]

"I know a couple of months ago, The Fame Monster was not listed under the discography section." Emm, what? In fact, this was there last year. A simple research into the page will tell you why it is there: "The Fame Monster: Added per talk page consensus, reached in late Nov – early Dec 2010, to include this EP on the list. Please don't remove unless discussion in the talk page produces a new consensus. Which you, again, did not check very well. If you want to remove TFM you need a new consensus to exclude. Tbhotch. Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 03:06, 10 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
